New Exchange Student Checklist
Welcome to The Catholic University of America! We are pleased to have you with us this semester as a visiting student and hope that you have a successful and enjoyable semester.
At the start of the semester, please complete ALL tasks on the checklist below:
- Obtain your CUA ID card - Before the start of classes, you can visit Campus Safety in 120 Leahy Hall to obtain your CUA ID which you will need to have with you at all times when you are on campus. Your CUA ID will allow you to access to campus resources such as the library, campus computers and fitness center.
- Obtain your CUA username and password - for access to your Cardinal Station and e-mail log-in information, visit Campus Planning and Information Technology (CPIT) in 200 Leahy Hall. You must present your CUA ID card to retrieve your information.
- Course registration verification - All students must register for the correct courses with the CUAbroad Office. Exchange students are also assisted in their registration by appropriate university departments and Schools. Please ask CUAbroad staff to find out about your "home" department.
- Class meeting times and locations - Information on when and where you classes will meet can be found by conducting a class search. Go to http://cardinalstation.cua.edu, click on "schedule of classes". Select Fall 2011 in the term box. Select the course subject and number, uncheck the "open classes only" box, and hit SEARCH. Find the course you are taking, with information on when and where the course meets.
- Immunization record - You must ensure that your immunization record is up to date. Students failing to complete the necessary immunizations by the end of the first week of classes will be automatically dropped from all their courses. You can visit http://health.cua.edu for the most up to date information on requirements and forms. Please turn in your forms to the Health Services Office directly.
- Registration for classes and add/drop period - You can continue to add or drop courses through Friday, September 7, 2012. Any course change after this date will appear on your record. Please see CUAbroad if you have questions about making any changes to your course registration. Do not go to the Registrar to make any changes to your registration.
- Address, phone number and telephone number verification - Please ensure that CUAbroad has your correct contact information and notify CUAbroad of any changes during your term at CUA. Communication with you will primarily be through this address, email address and phone number.
